RENAISSANCE DOCTORS
Renaissance doctors weren't very... what's the word? Experienced. Let me show you what I mean...
Doctors list of cures
Stuffy nose- Stuff mustard and onion up nostril
internal bleeding- wear a dried toad around your neck
bruises- Apply a mix of bacon fat and flour
memory loss- eat ginger
fainting- breathe in burnt feather smoke
The Black Death!!!- no known working cure, just give the patient anything ranging from bathing in human urine-drinking molten gold. Then tell them the 'planets are not in line' or something.
Some of these remedies actually worked, but still most Renaissance doct0rs were pretty superstiscious. They thought that the body had 4 fluids: Black bile, yellow bile, mucus, blood. And if you were sick that ment that you had an unbalance of those 4 liqueds, so along with your treatment, you had to apply for a surgery to cut open where you thought the extra liquid was. That ment go to the docters right? WRONG! The actual surgerey was preformedd by the barbers!!!
Later on, after the Black death, Renaissance doctors became more experienced. They actualy became a big influence on all medical history leading up to today.
