PERSEUS, SUPER POWER: SKILLED FIGHTER, some SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH
.
Acrisius was told that he would be defeated one day by his daughter's (Danae) son. This prophecy worried Acrisius. So to make sure his daughter would never have children he 'rapunzelized' her. But in her tower Danae was secretly confronted by Zeus had a little boy named Perseus. When Acrisius found out, he put his daughter and grandchild in a box and sent them out to sea. Miraculously they made it on the shores of Seriphos where a fisherman found them. The king there was cruel, and wanted Danae for a wife. But first he needed Perseus to of the way. The king hatched a plan to stage a marriage. Then forced everyone to give him an expensive gift, knowing that Perseus was poor. When Perseus was called forth to bring his gift, he came empty handed. The kind pretended to be outraged, and demanded why Perseus didn't get him a gift. Perseus blurted "I can get you any present in the world!" The king Seized the opportunity and replied "Then go get me the head of Medusa!" Perseus agreed. But a few days out into his journey he realized he had no idea where to start. Suddenly Athena and Hermes appeared before him. Hermes gave gave Perseus his winged sandals, and the original sickle that Kronos used to defeat Uranus. Athena gave Perseus a reflecting shield to make sure he wouldn't at look Medusa (if you look at her in the eye you will turn to stone) Perseus was told to go to the three Grey Sisters who shared only one eye between them. Then the sisters would tell him where the Nymphs of the North were. At first, when he got there the Grey Sisters wouldn't tell him anything. Perseus thought for a moment, then snatched the one gross squishy eyeball that the three Grey Sisters shared between them. The Grey Sisters went very happy about it, but they finally told Persus were the Nymphs of the north were. The Nymph of the north were much kinder to Perseus then the Grey Sisters. They gave Perseus The Cap of darkness1- makes any one who wears it invisible, and a bag- to put Medusa's ugly snake head in. Then the Nymphs told him how to get to Medusa's lair. Perseus knew when he was in the right place when he saw the mid-screamed garden gnomes of Medusa's past victims strewn all over the place (hmmmmm.. a very warm and fuzzy welcome, don't you think?) Fortunately the three (yes I said three. Medusa had two sisters) Gorgons were sleeping. Perseus snuck in wearing the Cap of Darkness chopped off Medusa's head, then put it in the sack. At the same time, he was Holding Athena's reflecting shield up, making sure not to look at the gorgon. Unfortunately he was to preoccupied to pay attention to Medusa's two sisters. But Perseus managed to get away from them unharmed. On his journey back, Perseus had many good and bad adventures. One of them was when Perseus threw a Discus in a tournament accidentally killing an old man in the audience, who turned out to be Acrisius. When he reached the island his mother was on, he met the same fisherman that he had met the first time he came there. the Fisherman told him how the king had staged the wedding just to force Daenae to marry him. Outraged, Perseus stormed into the palace. The king was shoked to see him still alive, but demanded to see proof that he had the head of Medusa. Perseuswas glad to show him the proof, he took the snake head out of the bag, and instently the king turned to stone. And Perseus and his mother lived happaly eeeeeever aaaafter
